Three Facts About Maui

LI: Today we did the Summer Learning Journey. For week one we all had to
create a drawing and write three facts about Maui and the giant fish for the programme.

News Report

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text.
Today's week for reading we had to create a broadcast video and talk about what has happened.
We had to get into groups, the people I had in my group were Victoria, Sakina, Mele, and Nyjah.
All of us had a option to choose what category we could chose. Victoria did business Sakina did entertainment Mele did sports Nyjah did international and I chose to do national. We all had to write about what we did in our own words.

Prodigy

Today I played a game called Prodigy.

Prodigy is a maths game where you answer maths questions to defeat other monsters.

When you are battling a monster there are maths question you have to answer if you get it right 

you hit the monster but the monster can also hit you, if you get it wrong you don't get to attack the monster the monster can only attack you.

SSR Selfie

Today I went on to SSR Selfie. SSR Selfie is a Slide Show where
you read a book for 15 minutes and after you have read the book you take a picture
with you and the book and write about what the book was about.

Math Monster

Today for my can dos I played Math Monster.

This is a maths game where you pick answer questions if you get it right a monster comes out

and, if you get wrong the monster slowly disappears.

Zombie Apocalypses Vlog

LI: To make generalisations about the impact of a group in our community.

Today's week for inquiry we had to make a vlog about if services were all lost.

We first had to write notes of what we had to say and try memorise the notes we wrote and say them

when we recorded. We had three options to do Option 1- Government Services

Option 2- Food Services Option 3- Health Services. I chose to do health services

and write about what life would be like without it.

  

LI: To make generalisations about the impact of a group in our community

Kiwi Sport

Today was our last session of Kiwi Sport with Kevin.

We only played games, we didn't learn any skill.

The first game we played was Octopus the first two taggers we had was Charlize and Chris

what you had to do for this game was that there are two taggers and you had to try not get tagged

but if you did you had to stand still and try tag the other people after we played Octopus

we had to get a racket and a shuttle, we had to get into groups of nine or eight. And we all had to vs each other we had to try hit the shuttle. After we played a bit of that we sat down on the ground and talked about what we have learnt in Kiwi Sport. 

Origami Recount Changes

LI: To write a recount about making origami cranes.
Today for writing we had to change some of the things from the recount
that we did last week on Thursday. We had to change some of the sentences that didn't make
scene. If we finished we had to go to Mr. Wong and let him mark it.

Prototec

 

L.I: To explore and describe about maths.

Today for maths we played Prototec, we had to try get to 100, 90, or 96.

I only got 85 on my test. But at least I tried my best to answer these questions some of the questions were hard

but I thought that the other ones were easy.

Prodigy

Today I played a game called Prodigy.

Prodigy is a maths game where you can battle monsters and level up.

When you are battling a monster you have to answer the maths question, if you get it right you attack the monster and get hp. But if you get it wrong the monster attacks you.

And you would lose health or miss its attack. If you lose you get nothing, but if you win you get two chest one chest gives you gold and other things. And the other chest is for people who are members.

Tables Conga

Today I played a maths game called Tables Conga.

How this game worked was that you had to get the time tables in order without getting touched

by the conga virus. If you got touched you lost, but if you collected them all in order you would

get a trophy.

Origami Recount

Today for our writing we made origami samurai helmets. We would rather watch the
video Mr. Wong made or do it by our selves. We had to follow each step and after we did
that we had to take a photo, when we finished our helmets we had to write a recount with our pictures.

We had to make changes for the samurai helmets we made last Thursday afternoon and
mark it so we could blog it.

Weekly News

Today for our reading we had to make a news paper article. We could chose national, international, entertainment, business, and sports. Me and Lukah wrote a article about Christmas while everyone else in our group were doing other articles. Jack had to make a website and after he made the website he would put our work all together in the website. The editor and chief had to make sure that nobody's work was copied and pasted or in their own words.

SSR Selfie

Today I went on to SSR Selfie.
SSR Selfie is a slide show where you read a book for 15 minutes and after you
have read the book you take a photo with the book. Then you write about what the book was
about.

Kiwi Can

Today we went to Kiwi Can. We had Ms. Lily and Ms. Latoya, we first played a game outside called shark attack there were two teams, non bibs and bibs. Half of each team had to stand up and the other half of the team had to sit down. One team had a ball and the other team and to try run away but the team who had to ball couldn’t run they had to walk. We played for a little while and we played the next game called hit the ball how we had to pay this game was that we had to get into two circles and there was a cone in the middle and one person had to try block the cone from the ball from getting hit, after we played that we went inside and had to stack up the trays and take it outside the one person had to protect their stack and half of their team had to sit down and watch. Then we went back inside and talked about what we did.

Three Roles in our Community

LI: To classify personal relationships.
This week for inquiry we had to pick three roles that we have done for inquiry,
we could only pick one role from each of the comuinty services. I went for police, builder, and doctor
we had to make three slides and reseach about what these three roles do.

Today for maths we had to go on somebody's maths quiz that we made last week and we had to answer the questions they made, I decided to comment on Ellenora's quiz I only got addition and subtraction right.

Today I played a game called Tables Conga.

Tables Conga is a game where you find each time table and put them in order

without trying to touch the conga virus, if you touched it

you lose. But if you got all of the time tables without getting touched you would win.

Today I played a game called Prodigy. If you

don't know what Prodigy is, it is a maths game where you battle monsters by solving

math answers if you get the question right you can attack the monster after you have attacked the monster the monster also attacks you.

LI: To explore and describe about maths.

This week for maths we had to learn about Addition, Subtraction, Fraction, and Multiplication
we had to make four quizzes about these topics.  

Past Tense

Name: Sila       Title: Bean Bag Game.

This week on Monday Mr. Wong took us outside to play a game.

Mr. Wong told us to get into a group of six.

We had to try throw the hoop bag into the five circles ,If you got the bean bag around the middle circle you would get one point, and if you got the bean bag into the middle circle you would get two points.

Then we had to take pictures of the people getting the bean bags into the hoops.

Then we all had to talk about what kind of actions we we’re doing.

LI: to use past tense to show something has happened.

This week for writing we walked to the library and get into a group of three or two and we

had to go on this document and write one sentence one about what we did on each row.

National News

Today's week for reading we had to write news reports about Sport, Weather, National, Entertainment, Business, and International.We had to get into our reading groups and chose one of these six news reports. I chose to do weather, I wrote about how summer is coming to NZ quite early.

Government Service

LI: To look at more than one information on source when researching.

Today for Inquiry we did Government Services. We had to get into a group of six and when
you were in a group of six you had to work with someone that was in that group of six, we had to
chose two government services but you couldn't chose the same one. I chose Library and Ellenora chose Politicians. We had to walk around the room and find information that was on the wall, but some information could be false and others could be true.

Athletics Day

Today was Athletics Day. We

all did sport things there were four groups Yellow, Green, Blue, and Red.

The first game we played was where we had to grab a spoon and a egg and you had to

zig zag around the cones and walk over the pole and stand on your colour circle for 10 seconds. But

if you dropped your egg you had to stay still for five seconds and then after those five seconds you could go.

My favourite game was rob the nest.

Today for my can dos I decided to play Tables Conga.

Tables Conga is a game where you find the time tables in order.

there is a thing called a Conga Virus, when it touches you 

you lose. When you collect the time tables without getting touched you win and get a

trophy.

Prodigy

This is a maths game called prodigy. 

Prodigy is a maths game where you go out to other worlds and battle monsters

when you are battling a monster you have to answer the question to hit the monster.

When you get the question right you use one of you're spells to defeat it and you

can also level up by doing that, but if you get the question wrong the monster can also attack you

and you can lose health or miss it's attack.

When you win the battle you get coins from the chest next to you. When you collect the coins

you can get more by battling other monsters.

Past Tense

Today for this weeks writing we had to write about the past tense and future. We
had to write the sentences again but just with another line that was underlined, the next thing
we had to do on this was fill the word. You had to try fill the word that made sense in it. And the last
one was that you had to write the word but with you're own past tense.

Ellenora's fire station blog post. I commented saying that she should put

more detail into what she is writing.

Fire Station Visit

Today LS1 walked to the Panmure Fire Station. When we got there we went inside and
sat down and they told us what to do when there is a fire near you. Then we all went outside
and saw the fire truck, Norman showed us the uniform they wear when they are going to put down the fire. He also showed us things that the fire truck had. After we heard about the fire truck Norman
showed us the hoses there were three hoses in the fire truck the fist hose they us was the high pressure hose Norman said that it only shot out a little amount of water. The second hose he showed us was the low pressure hose this hose could shoot out lots of water. After we saw those two Norman needed four people to try out the hose Jonathan, Andrew, Fui, and Sandra. They tried the hose one at a time
after they tried the hose out Mr. Ogilve tried the hose as well. After that Norman went up on the ladder the got the big hose out he turned it on and we all got wet. Then we all walked back to school.

Today's week for inquiry we did trades. We had to get into partners and find two
different trades to do. We did Food Service and Builder, We had to walk around the
room and find things about them.

Today's week for maths we did our own

graph. We had to walk around the classroom and ask people

which thing was their favourite. I picked food

the options they had to pick was Sushi, Cake Pops, Pizza, Chocolate, and Other.

Once we we're done telling people we had to draw a graph in our book and draw the food or anything else

and glue it in our maths book.

Ending	The day was fun because we learnt how to juggle and try new things.

Today for this weeks writing we had to go to room 7 and do juggling.

And write a recount about it. We learnt how to juggle three balls.

coins and get other things. You answer maths questions to attack the monsters. When

the monster loses you get coins and you can also level up by attacking the monsters.

I did pixel art for my daily 6. I

made a watermelon I had to grab a ruler, a piece of paper, and a pencil

to do this. I drew squares with my ruler and with my pencil and

made it like the watermelon.

LI: To use a range of comprehension strategies to go deeper into a text. This
week for reading we had to pick a strategy. I did Visualising and learnt that you
can image a picture in you're head from what the book is telling you.

Stick Game

Last week on Wednesday Mr. Wong took us outside to play a game. They game

was called Stick Game Mr. Wong told us how to play it, he showed us some examples he used Johnathan, Sandra, and Xavier. We had to partner up with someone to play the game

how this game worked was that you and your partner had to get had to grab a stick and you had to try grab the stick off your partner without moving your feet. Then Mr. Wong and Mr. Ogilvie played the game and Mr. Ogilvie won, we didn’t have enough time to do

Anything else because the bell rang so we all had to go inside and pack up.

LI: To look for simple sentences.

This week for writing we wrote a recount about what we did outside we used tree to

write down our notes in order of what we did.

Professional Workers

Today's week for inquiry we learnt about professionals. We
had to get in a group of six and get a buddy and pick two professionals we wanted to do.
Me and Ellenora did doctor and accountant, we had to write about doctor and accountant.

This week for maths we

had to put our fruit graph in our maths book.

We had to draw a graph on our books first and then cut the fruit squares

out and glue them to our maths book. And then after we glue the fruit squares into

our book we had to write down which fruit it was.

I learnt about the most important Emergency Services in our community. We
had to get into pairs I worked with Ellenora and we needed to write two important emergency services.
We did Police and Armed Services.

LI: To write a "reveal" section for a recount.

To plan and write a recount in 40 minutes. Today for writing we had to edit the recount

from last week about the performance we were using punctuation to fix our spelling and making it look

pretty.
