Commenting

Today I commented on Florence's Cybersmart blog post. I asked
her why we would need to clean out our drive.

Kiwi Can

Today for Kiwi Can we played two games. The first game was 21, and the second game was Guess the Emotion. For 21, we needed to get into a circle and the person who had the ball they had to pass it on and if the person was 21 they had to sit down. For Guess the Emotion the first four people had to stand up and the people that were sitting down had to do the action on the board and the person who was standing up had to guess the action. Next we did GKQ.

Duffy Assembly

Today the whole school went to the hall for Duffy Assembly. We had two guests that were visiting.
Tayla Hodson Tomokino, and Matt Johnson. We learnt that Matt had been playing rugby for the Blues and
Tayla had been doing BMX biking when she was younger and she played for the Samoan touch team. She
was also a lawyer for sports, they told us about reading and about how they got into sports. Tayla had brought her trophy she had won at the BMX race, she had came second place. After we were having fun we
got our Duffy books. They had also came to our class and did the challenges we had been doing for inquiry.

Organising Your Drive.

LI: To organise our files correctly.
This week for cybersmart we had to go to our drive and organise where all the
drawings and documents should go. We had to do this because if we had to find something
we might lose it and we would have to do it again or if it doesn't look messy.

LS1 Olympics

This week we did the LS1 Olympics, we played three games for the Olympics- Stack Attack, Back flip,
and Office Build. Each group had to play with a one minute timer, if the time would run out they needed to stop and the other person would play the game they are going to play. Stack Attack was really hard for me
because I didn't know where to put the cups. Other people played stack attack and they didn't make it in time. The other games were hard for people as well.

was hard to do.

batters and fielders, After all the batters had that had batted had to switch to be fielders. We played for a while and then Ash told us to get into a circle and she talked about where there were other places we could do soft ball.

Kiwi Sport

Today's week for Kiwi Sport we were doing batting with Ash. She picked us as ones and twos.
One's were the people who had to go on the field and two's were the people who were batting.
When the person who was batting hit the softball they had to run around until somebody got the ball, we swapped at batting and fielding. We played for a while and then we stopped. We all thanked Ash for letting us do batting.

Free Rice

Today for my daily 6 I played a game called free rice. What you need to
do in this game is that there is a word that means another thing, If you get it correct you're rice bowl will grow more rice and if you get it wrong you will try again.

Commenting

Today I had commented on Ellenora's addition and subtraction blog post.
I asked her how she got the answer's right.

Today's week for maths we did addition and subtraction. We had to answer these addition and subtraction questions and if it was addition we had to copy and paste it into the addition box, and if it was subtraction we had to copy and paste it into the subtraction box.

Making Predictions

Making Predictions

Text title:

Basic predictions
Prediction
Correct / incorrect
I think this is a narrative/ recount/ information report/ procedure/ explanation/ persuasion (highlight) because … It is about a family going to pick up puha.

I think the text is about a Family who are going out to pick up some Puha. In the picture it looks like the Dad is giving the little girl a pair of gumboots so they can go out to get puha, because it says “Picking Up Puha” in the title.

One sentence I might see in the text is: When we were driving in the car we saw some puha and decided to pick it up.

Other predictions
Prediction
Correct / incorrect
The dad has given his daughter a pair of gumboots.

While they are driving the car breaks down and the dad has to move the car all the way home to get the gas.

Then they are in the car again and they have gotten lots of puha.

LI: To make and check predictions about a text.
Today's week for reading we were learning how to make predictions in a story. The story we were making predictions about was called Picking up Puha. We had to make predictions about what was going to happen in the story.

Team Emblem

Today for Inquiry we had to make a emblem. What we needed to do for our emblem is
that we needed to get into a group of five, my group were Lila, Diana, Bella, and Ellenora.
We made our emblem by using our annihilates and using our favourite colours that were white, red, black, blue, and purple. The reason we made this emblem was because LS1 were doing a minute to win it games. The minute to win it games were about doing activities and having fun.

SSR Selfie

LI: To summarise and retell a text.
Today I went on to SSR Selfie and wrote about a book called Through the Gate.
This book was about a little girl who had moved into a really old house that she doesn't like.
Everyday she had came home from school the house kept changing.

My Writing Journey

LI: To identify the features of a recount.
LI: To evaluate and improve on our writing.

Today I did my writing journey on Little Boat. I had to write about what had
happened to little boat.

Art Portrait

LI: To learn how to make portraits of ourselves.
This week we have been learning how to do art. We all had to trace over our pictures Mr. Wong took and
after we had traced the front we had to go to the back and trace over it with pencil, Then we had to go to Mr. Wong or Mr. Ogilvie and they had to put tape on the paper and we had to trace over it with red pen.

After we had traced our picture over with red we needed to go to Mr. Wong to take the tape off and at the back of the paper the picture had been drawn onto it and we needed to pastel it in with a bright colour. After we had finished pasteling we needed to paint all the white bits at the back of the paper.

When it is dry we have to grab a vivid and go over the paper with it.

Addition and Subtraction

LI: To add and subtract by counting up or down.
For this weeks math we had to add and subtract by counting with our fingers.
