Language Poster

LI: To identify the structure and language features of a procedural text. This week for Writing we had to make a poster about different texts that are used in writing. Verb, Present Tense, and Third Person. We had to find the definitions of what these three texts meant. We then needed to write in what they all meant.

Narrative Edit

The Clown and the Brothers.

One day there was a Clown that was on a hill riding his bike. While he was riding his bike, there were two boys that came up to him and took his balloon and stuck it in a tree.

The Clown was really upset about this so he confronted the two brothers that took his balloon and he fought the brothers and got his balloon back and went back home.

The next day we went to the park and this time, the Clown had two balloons, and his bike. He rode around for a little bit and noticed that the two brothers came back.

They were angered by the clown for taking the balloons back so instead of taking the balloons, they ran away with his bike.

He tried to chase them but they were to fast.

So he decided to make up a plan to get his bike back so he went back home. The next day he went out to go get his bike back. He found the two brothers and went over to talk to them. They still had his bike. So he asked the two brothers if they could give back the bike. They refused to give his bike back.

So the Clown decided to call the police for the two boys to give the bike back to the Clown. The police found the two boys, and gave them a warning, and told them to not take his bike again.

They said to the Police Officer and gave back the bike to the Clown. They apologize to the Clown for taking his bike and they both walked away. After a while the Police Officer left, The Clown walked home. The day after that, he decided to bring a lunch with him for the park. When he got to the park the other boys were causing trouble even though they got a warning by the police.

The Clown ran to them and told them both to stop. Instead of doing so, they took his lunch. He was really angry about them, so he ran over to them again and fought them.

They next day, the clown heard a knock on the door and it was the two boys. They wanted to apologize for the things they have done to him. He gave them a chance, and forgave them both and they all got along well with each other.

This week for Writing we had to go back to our Narrative of our writing and edit / read the story to make sure that it made sense. After we read it all, we had to write down our names on the board and wait for the teacher to check it. After the teacher had checked it, we had to go and draw pictures for our story / narrative.

This week for Writing we had to write a Narrative for the writing we have been doing for the past three weeks. We had to write about what we have been planning for our stories that we have written.

Descriptive Writing

This week for Writing we were continuing on our Character. We had to make a Descriptive Writing drawing and copy and paste the boring part into the left side and the exciting part onto the right side. We needed to write in the boring part what was boring about the character. And for the exciting part, we had to write in what things could be exciting for the Character.

Setting Plan

LI: To plan a narrative.
This week for our writing we were working on our setting for
our character we made. My character was the Clown. We had to write in what kind of things there would be in the setting. For my setting, I chose a hut for the clown. We had to add information about what the setting has.

Describing Character

LI: To plan a narrative. This week for writing we had to describe our character
we created last week. We had to describe their, Appearance, Persona, and Experiences.
And etc. For the character i chose, I picked a clown for my group.

Figurative Language

LI: To use Figurative Language to describe a character.
This week for writing we had to make a T chart and write things about
a character. We had to make a boring side, and a interesting side. For the boring side, we
had to about what they look like, and what they act like. For my interesting side, I had to write sentences that make him sound like a interesting character. For my T chart, I did Stingy from Lazy Town.

Acrostic Poem

LI: What is Poetry. This week for Writing we had to make a Acrostic Poem.
We had to create a Google Slide and then write our name top to bottom and then
write words that are with our names.

Writing Explanation

LI: To plan and write an explanation.
This week for writing we had to pick a topic and then write a explanation on what it is.
I chose to do how paper is made. We had to create a Google drawing, Or a Google document and write about what our topics were.

Firework Explanation.

LI: To plan and write an explanation.
This week for writing we had to write an explanation on how Fireworks work. We needed to write about how to use a firework. After we had wrote the explanation, we had to put a image in of what we were writing about and put in a title for our explanation.

Cause and Effect

   LI: What is cause and effect?
   LI: What is casual and technical language?
   This week for writing we had to write about cause and effect. We had to write about something and then      put a word in the middle for it to make sense. Some of the words we had to use were: Because, When, If      then, and In order to. We used Cause, Casual Language, and Effect.
 

Explanation

Title Use a clear title that tells the reader what the explanation writing is about.	What is the Must do Task List?
Introduction Introduce the subject / topic to your reader. You could also explain what some of the technical vocabulary means.	What is the Must do Task List? The Must do Task List is where people from LS1 link their blogs up. When they have linked a blog post they get a number coloured in next to their name. If they get 100% that means they have finished all their work and it’s coloured in golden. And they get to play games with the teachers or have free time. We also have labels to put our work in the correct slot. Reading, Writing, Maths, and Inquiry. And we have labels for Kiwi Can, Kiwi Sport, Cybersmart, and Maori.
Main Points Describe and explain each point in the process. Remember to write the points in a logical order, with reasons why each step happens. You can also use paragraphs and subheadings to organise the points.	We use the Must do Task List to show how much blog post we have done throughout the weeks. How to use it, we need to create a blog post about something. After we have made a blog post, we need to link it to the must do task list. We click a little button and it will show Link and Name. So we have to copy and paste the blog post link by using CTRL+V CTRL C. When we have copied and pasted it we go back to the must do task list and we paste the link  into the bar that says “Link:” Once we have pasted in the link and the name we have to press enter to put it in.
Conclusion A summary of the topic. If your explanation began with a question, you could summarise the answer.	When we have linked the blog post, the number next to the name will change colour and the number. The colours are: Blue, Light Blue, Dark Blue, and Golden.

LI: What is an explanation.
This week for writing we had to write an explanation of what the Must do Task List is. We had to use What, Why, Where, When, Who, and How.

Duffy Assembly

Today the whole school went to the hall for Duffy Assembly. We had two guests that were visiting.
Tayla Hodson Tomokino, and Matt Johnson. We learnt that Matt had been playing rugby for the Blues and
Tayla had been doing BMX biking when she was younger and she played for the Samoan touch team. She
was also a lawyer for sports, they told us about reading and about how they got into sports. Tayla had brought her trophy she had won at the BMX race, she had came second place. After we were having fun we
got our Duffy books. They had also came to our class and did the challenges we had been doing for inquiry.

 

Figurative Language

LI: To identify and use different forms of Figurative Language.
For this week's writing, we had to watch a video called Pigeon Impossible. After we had
watch it, we needed to create a figurative language slide and use different types of languages.
Personification, Alliteration, Idiom, Simile, and Metaphor.

Andy Warhol Pop Art Recount

LI: To accurately use a range of simple, compound, and complex sentences.
Today's week for writing had to make a recount of the Andy Warhol pop art we did last week.
We needed to write TREE for the recount we were writing about

My Writing Journey

LI: To identify the features of a recount.
LI: To evaluate and improve on our writing.

Today I did my writing journey on Little Boat. I had to write about what had
happened to little boat.

Origami Recount Changes

LI: To write a recount about making origami cranes.
Today for writing we had to change some of the things from the recount
that we did last week on Thursday. We had to change some of the sentences that didn't make
scene. If we finished we had to go to Mr. Wong and let him mark it.

Origami Recount

Today for our writing we made origami samurai helmets. We would rather watch the
video Mr. Wong made or do it by our selves. We had to follow each step and after we did
that we had to take a photo, when we finished our helmets we had to write a recount with our pictures.

We had to make changes for the samurai helmets we made last Thursday afternoon and
mark it so we could blog it.

Past Tense Slide

This week for writing we had to create a slide and copy and paste from the
5 sentence document and put in pictures from the game we did on Monday.

Past Tense

Name: Sila       Title: Bean Bag Game.

This week on Monday Mr. Wong took us outside to play a game.

Mr. Wong told us to get into a group of six.

We had to try throw the hoop bag into the five circles ,If you got the bean bag around the middle circle you would get one point, and if you got the bean bag into the middle circle you would get two points.

Then we had to take pictures of the people getting the bean bags into the hoops.

Then we all had to talk about what kind of actions we we’re doing.

LI: to use past tense to show something has happened.

This week for writing we walked to the library and get into a group of three or two and we

had to go on this document and write one sentence one about what we did on each row.
